Tour of Meditation Practices   (9/2)
Hundreds of approaches to relaxation/centering/meditation have been developed over the centuries, and each has its own charm, benefits and wisdom. We explore one new approach each meeting. This lets you work some relaxation into your life while building a repertoire of stress-management techniques for improving your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Free. (Return to calendar)

Reiki Exchange   (9/2)
Within each one of us there is the capacity to energetically heal the imbalances of the mind, body and spirit. Feldenkrais Movement For Life   (9/3)
Many of us don't run, dance, or even stand up from a chair with as much ease and grace as we would like. But these movements of everyday life don't need to be difficult. The Feldenkrais Method shows us how to move in ways that are natural. Elaine Dove, an authorized Awareness Through Movement teacher, will teach us how to recognize our physical sensations and become more comfortable, relaxed and graceful. This helps build better relationships and achieve other personal goals. $80 for six-week series. $15 per week. $65 for Annual and Premium members. Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are available for some professionals. Please RSVP. (Return to calendar)

Video and Discussion   (9/6)
["Things Change" with Don Ameche [PG].] Most Saturday nights, you'll find us watching a popular movie here at the Center in a fun, informal atmosphere. Then we have a discussion. We don't discuss the movie, though; we discuss personal growth issues and themes that came up in the movie. So we're not doing a "Siskel and Ebert" type of review, but rather an in-depth personal growth process that helps us get to know ourselves and each other better. During the discussion we learn and practice essential communication skills like I-Statements and Open-Ended Questions, so that we can apply them more effectively in the rest of our lives. Each month there's a different general topic for the videos, ranging from Relationships to Overcoming Obstacles to Remarkable People. Come join us! Free. (Return to calendar)

So every three months or so, we bring in someone who is able to explain to us a lifestyle that might seem a bit unusualor maybe even weird! We'll be covering a variety of novel topics, ranging from polyamory to permaculture to nudism to political activism. The more we know about uncommon options that are available to us, the more easily we can choose lifestyles that genuinely match our values, personality and goals in life.
